We at Abstract-Painting seek to properly curate all that we have accepted to our gallery. However, in our zeal to be as inclusive as possible, our gallery is practically overflowing. Rather than remove any submissions that we've previously accepted, we seek to clearly state our guidelines for submissions going forward.
As there are plenty of other groups on dA who allow for a broad focus on abstract art, we would prefer to stay consistent with our name and narrow our focus to featuring only art that is both abstract and appears to be a painting, regardless of medium.
It is important to state that we will no longer accept submissions that appear to be or are classified by the artist as a drawing. The actual mediums used aren't as important. If it appears to be an abstract painting, we may accept it.
Paintings may be applied to any type of substrate or support, or placed within different contexts. Therefore, we may accept sculptures that are painted, or even installations featuring a significant amount of painted content.
We very much appreciate the contributions of our members. Our gratitude goes out to all deviants for their participation.
Our preference is that all art be submitted to the "Recent Submissions" folder. This will provide the opportunity for recent submissions to be noticed as such, and not be subject to the fairly constant sorting we do in the other folders. It is likely that we will simply move new submissions into the "Recent Submissions" folder, if we catch them.
